Welder Training for AWS Certification

As an American Welding Society (AWS) Accredited Test Facility (ATF), we know how to train you to take your career to the next level. Whatever your goals are, we can get you there with one of our AWS targeted welding course that range from 40 hours to over 100 hours. All course are taught by either an AWS Certified Educator (CWE) or AWS Certified Inspector (CWI). So you can be absolutely confident that we know what you need to learn to successfully test on the AWS standard you want. We will not nickel and dime you like those other schools – EVERYTHING is included in the price – practice materials, filler materials, gasses, practice test, and the actual AWS Welder Qualification test in one position.

The training sessions are offered daily so we can get you started FAST on the schedule you want. The afternoon sessions are from 1pm to 5pm and evening sessions are from 5pm to 9pm. All training and test sessions are 4-hours long.

The way it works is you select the class you want from the list below and then give us a call at 949-296-2153. Our front desk team will answer all of your questions, help you select a schedule that works for you, and get you enrolled. We offer regular scheduled courses in the following welder technologies: GMAW (MIG), FCAW-S/G  (FluxCore), SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and Oxy / Acetylene torches.

How does it work? Simple.  Just give us a quick call at 949-296-2153 and one of our front desk team will enroll you and help you select your test day and time. You will be enrolled it the number of sessions indicated for the course selected. On the first day of the course, show up 15 minutes early so we can create your ID card, complete some paperwork, and get your membership setup so you have access to the facilities during your training period. You will take the Welder Performance Qualification Test on the last day of the course. You will get your results back in about week and the AWS will mail you your AWS certificate in 4 to 6 weeks.

What’s Included:  Everything is included in the price of the course. We provide the test coupons, filler materials and gas, and calibrated welding machines. All you need to do is show up gear in hand, ready to go.

How many test positions do I get?: You get one weld type (G or F) in one position (1-4), in one material size per test except for D9.1 where you get two tests.

Terms: All courses are pre-paid. No credits or refunds for no-shows. Must re-schedule 3-days in advance for credit.

Price:  Courses range between $4,999 to $15,999. Please note AWS charges $60 per test for their application fee and it is collected at the time of enrollment.

Prerequisites: Varies per course.

Equipment: Students should bring all of their own safety gear (helmet, sleeves, gloves, safety glasses, etc)

Minimum age: 16 years with adult permission

Attire: Long pants, closed-toe shoes or boots, Long sleeve flame retardant shirt. Polyester clothing is highly flammable so no breathable sport shirts/pants. We have shared welding gear but it is best to bring your own if you have it.
