6 Week Junior Maker Program With Chuck Jones Center for Creativity – Level 1

Classes start summer 2018.

Urban Workshop has teamed up with the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity to offer a project based design program for young students ages 8 to 9. This program is designed to help students visualize their ideas and bring them to life. During the 6-weeks, students will be introduced to drawing techniques and tools that will enhance visual articulation of their ideas. We think this is the perfect lead in to our hands-on classes for students 10 to 15 years old who will then learn to build their ideas.

Participants will learn:

Shape Building: Combine shapes to create complex objects

One Point Linear Perspective: Give drawings the illusion of being 3D.

Scale and Proportion: Enlarge drawings using the grid method

Plotting with a Protractor: Use math for creative design

Simple Machines: Create a chain reaction

Conversion: Turn 2D drawings into a 3D object

Prerequisite(s): None!

Minimum age: 8 years       Maximum age: 9 years

Minimum number of kids to make a class: 6,   Maximum number of kids per class: 24
