INFORMAL CLASSES
LEARN A NEW SKILL AND HAVE FUN DOING IT
These are the old school shop classes they used to teach in high school with some modern technology added to the mix. From Blacksmithing to CNC machines to wood shop and automotive, we teach it all.
Classes are open to members and non menbers and run all the time. One-off classes provide focused learning in a single shop area and sign you off for use as a member. Courses are much more indepth and give you a greater depth of knowledge and more confidence in your abilities.
PROFESSIONAL WELDER TRAINING
LEARN QUICKLY AND GET AWS CERTIFIED
Short duration focused learning in the welding specialty you want. Get certified in weeks instead of months and start making money as a professional welder. The ultimate option over trade schools and community colleges. Forget student loans and going into debt just to get a certificate of completion.
Every welding student earns AWS certification, making you an internationally recognized professional welder. No other school offers this. We can dual certify AWS and LADBS as the only facility in Southern California that is both an AWS Accredited Test Facility (ATF) and LADBS approved test center.

INDIVIDUAL OR EMPLOYEE CERTIFICATIONS
Get international recognition as an American Welding Society (AWS) certified welder at the only facility in Southern California that is both an American Welding Society Accredited Test Facility and LADBS approved test center. Stop taking qualification tests over and over and get AWS certified. AWS certification holders get hired first, get paid more, and get access to the unions.
As a walk-in open test center, we have no restrictions on who can test and when. Most tests are completed in 4 hours with results in 48 hours. LADBS applicants can test and apply for dual certification with both the City of LA and the AWS with the same test providing a value you can’t get anywhere else. It’s time to move your career forward and certify your welding skills.
YOUTH HANDS-ON SHOP CLASSES
PRACTICAL SKILLS THAT LAST A LIFETIME
Kids become confident and independent by teaching them practical skills that will give them confidence and help them master the world around them. Career exploration opportunities are presented to students as they experience firsthand engineering and technical problem solving using both traditional and modern equipment to achieve a fun and practical solution.
Offered in the spring and fall as a 12-week program, and in the summer as a one week intensive – it is designed to create a relaxed and pressure-free environment in which students learn to use a wide selection of hand and power tools with a variety of materials. We accept charter funds from all SoCal charter schools.
