TXT101 Sewing Machine Basics - Industrial

Get hands-on experience with our sturdy and strong, but easy to use, industrial sewing machines. Each student will make a tote bag. This machine can sew through most regular weight fabric, but not heavy duty materials like leather or layers of canvas. Students of this class have gone on to create messenger bags, rocket parachutes, leather accessories, clothing, sails, costumes and battery packs with zippers. Once you take and successfully pass this class, you can use this equipment for your projects whenever you work at Urban Workshop as a member!

TXT102 Sewing Machine Basics - Personal Home Machines

In this class, you will get hands-on experience with our personal home style sewing machines. Each student will make a small pocket bag. This machine can sew through most regular weight fabric, but not heavy duty materials like leather or layers of canvas. Students of this class go on to make a variety of designer projects including clothing, plushies, and costumes.

TXT103 Sewing Techniques - Workshop Apron

In this class you will make a denim workshop apron with canvas straps from templates provided. Students will learn a variety of stitches on the different sewing machines, work with templates, stitch together various types of fabrics and learn about sewing joints, hems, edging, stretch fabrics, buttons, pockets, and straps.

TXT201 Silk Screen Basics

This course will guide you through the essentials of screen printing using a premade screen featuring the Urban Workshop logo. Dive into the process of screen setup. Gain hands-on experience in installing screens, aligning colors, and understanding key aspects such as shirt alignment, adhesives, inks, squeegees, drying, and cleanup.

Find out what it takes to do successful heat transfer and customization. Covering everything from how to set your heat press, to choosing the right heat transfer to print any job, this demonstration-heavy class will have you heat printing like a pro. Topics include: Loading the heat press, difference between cover sheets and when to use which one, choosing perfect heat transfer, how to get the screen print look with just a heat press, applying bling & foil effects and how to achieve fashionable finishes with distressed transfers.
